Art of the Duo.

Sherry Alves has been singing and teaching in the Willamette Valley for almost more than a decade.

A frequent collaborator, guitarist Christopher Woitach, shares Sherry’s love for — and skill with — many genres of music. They both pull from Brazilian, traditional (swing/ragtime) and contemporary jazz, but also range into pop, country, and other styles. To find a collaborator who knows your range of music opens up flow and possibility that audiences feel.

I’ve put out a request to Christopher to talk about collaborating with singers and with Sherry in particular. Stay tuned to this journal for updates.

Christopher, a long-time collaborator with Sherry, is featured here on KMHD doing the first jazz song he learned as a young musician, Autumn Leaves.
